The Classic Hoover / "What If" Rave Lead

This is that classic ripping, pitching-bending rave sound from the 90s.

Classic Rave Lead

  1. Start with a Pulse wave. (14:20)
  2. Detune it by summing a stereo-detuned signal back to mono. (14:25)
  3. Add an LFO and assign it to the Pulse Width (PWM). This gives it a "reese-like" phasing sound without using a saw wave. (14:46)
  4. Use an Envelope (like the filter envelope) to modulate the main Pitch. (15:55)
  5. Set the envelope to have a Slow Attack and a long decay/sustain. Set the modulation amount high (e.g., +24 semitones). This creates that slow "rise" in pitch. (16:03)
  6. Set the synth to Monophonic mode and add Glide (Legato) to slide between notes. (16:57)
