The Classic Dub Techno Chord Stab

This is the essential sound of dub techno, made of a simple minor chord and heavy, filtered effects.

The Dub Chord

Start with Saw waves. (18:36)
Set your synth to Polyphonic mode and play a minor chord (e.g., root, minor 3rd, 5th). (18:36)
Use a steep Low Pass filter (like an LP2). (18:42)
Set both the Amplitude Envelope and Filter Envelope to have a slow attack, giving the chord a soft, swelling entrance. (18:53)
The most important parts are the effects:
- Delay: Add a syncopated delay with a lot of Feedback. (19:29)
- Reverb: Add a large reverb to wash the sound out. (19:24)
(Optional) For a stab sound, use a short, plucky envelope instead of a slow one. (20:11)
