Ø Mirror
Bitwig Platform
Scales a phase signal and reflects overflow back into the cycle instead of wrapping it.
What it does
Ø Mirror increases phase travel and folds it at the cycle boundaries. The result alternates direction on successive folds, producing a triangle-like traversal of a downstream waveform rather than the repeated forward traversal produced by Ø Sync.
Controls and ports

Amount | Amount to shift and then reflect the phase input |
Practical uses
- Create folded oscillator phase motion with alternating forward and backward sections.
- Turn a simple phase ramp into a triangle-like address pattern.
- Compare it with Ø Sync at the same Amount to hear reflection versus wrapping.
Things to know
- Mirror reflects at boundaries; Sync wraps and starts the next traversal in the same direction.
- Its output remains in the phase domain even when the scaled internal value exceeds one cycle.
- More gain creates more folds per input cycle.
- The exact Amount-to-gain mapping is not available from a confirmed Nitro body.
Technical details
No Nitro implementation has been confirmed for this visible module. The behavior is described conservatively from module metadata and editorial research.
The behavioral model is a triangle-fold function applied to a scaled phase value: scale the input by gain(amount), reduce it to a two-cycle interval, and reflect the second half back toward zero. This captures the documented mirror operation without claiming an unobserved exact formula or Amount mapping.
Open questions
- Measure the neutral Amount, exact gain law, boundary samples, behavior for negative phase, stereo behavior, and whether the center of scaling is shifted.

Checked against Bitwig Studio 6.0.6. This page combines Bitwig's module metadata, the existing Grid course and guides, and Nitro analysis where the mapping is strong enough to support a technical statement.
