Audio In
Bitwig Platform
The stereo audio signal entering the surrounding Grid device's audio input buss.
What it does
Audio In brings the device's upstream audio into the Grid graph. It is the usual starting point for FX Grid processing and can also expose an available input buss in other Grid device contexts.

Practical uses
- Feed an FX Grid filter, shaper, delay, or analyzer from the track's incoming audio.
- Split dry audio into parallel processing paths and recombine them before Audio Out.
Things to know
- Audio In is different from Audio Sidechain, which selects another project path, and HW In, which selects physical hardware.
- The signal is stereo and may exceed the nominal -1 to +1 range.
- Device-chain latency and any dry/wet behavior belong to the enclosing Grid device.
Technical details
No Nitro implementation has been confirmed for this visible module. The behavior is described conservatively from module metadata and editorial research.
This is a host buss terminal: conceptually grid_audio = device_audio_input at the application's processing boundary. It performs no documented gain, clipping, or channel conversion, and no standalone Nitro DSP body is expected for the routing terminal.
Open questions
- Verify availability in all three Grid devices, channel expansion, latency, bypass, suspension, and behavior with missing upstream audio.
