CV Out

CV Out module panel in Bitwig Grid
CV Out in Bitwig Grid 6.0.6.

A Grid signal routed as control voltage through a selected external CV output.

What it does

CV Out sends a Grid control signal to a configured hardware CV buss. Bitwig and the audio interface translate the numerical signal into physical voltage for modular or other voltage-controlled equipment.

Practical uses

  • Control external filter cutoff, amplitude, modulation, or clock-processing hardware from the Grid.
  • Send envelopes and LFOs to a modular system while keeping their generation synchronized in Bitwig.

Things to know

  • Use a DC-coupled output designed for the required voltage range.
  • A raw Grid value is not a universal voltage until the selected CV path is calibrated.
  • Protect external equipment from out-of-range or accidental full-scale signals.

Technical details

No Nitro implementation has been confirmed for this visible module. The behavior is described conservatively from module metadata and editorial research.

CV Out is a calibrated host/hardware sink rather than a recovered DSP transform: conceptually voltage = path_calibration(input). The exact scale, offset, clamp, latency, and reconstruction behavior depend on the configured output path.

Open questions

  • Measure volts per Grid unit, offset, polarity, clipping, latency, DC drift, sample-rate effects, and behavior on stop/bypass/device loss.
