A stereo audio input selected from another path inside the current Bitwig project.
What it does
Audio Sidechain brings audio from a chosen track, device, or other routable project source directly into the Grid without changing the device's main Audio In path.

Practical uses
- Drive an envelope follower, compressor detector, ring modulator, or spectral process from another track.
- Compare or combine the main Audio In signal with a separately selected project source.
Things to know
- The selected path and tap point determine whether pre/post-fader processing is included.
- Sidechain latency can differ from the main signal and may be affected by plug-in delay compensation.
- This is project routing, not a physical hardware input.
Technical details
No Nitro implementation has been confirmed for this visible module. The behavior is described conservatively from module metadata and editorial research.
Audio Sidechain is a host routing terminal rather than a self-contained DSP transform: out is the stereo stream from the selected project path. Selection, latency compensation, channel adaptation, and missing-source behavior are handled outside Nitro.
Open questions
- Record available tap points, latency/compensation, mono-to-stereo rules, missing or frozen source behavior, feedback prevention, and voice scope.
